Frequently Asked Questions

What LED tube replaces a F32T8 fluorescent?
A T8 4ft 15W LED tube replaces F32T8 (32W). Same G13 bi-pin base. Delivers 2,100 lumens (vs 2,800 for fluorescent) at 140 lm/W efficacy. Type A works with existing T8 ballasts; Type B bypasses the ballast for direct line voltage connection.
Can I replace T8 fluorescent with T5 LED?
No. T8 and T5 tubes use different pin configurations (G13 vs G5) and different fixture designs. You cannot swap T8 for T5 without replacing the entire fixture. If your existing fixtures are T8, replace with T8 LED tubes.
What is the difference between Type A, B, and A+B LED tubes?
Type A LED tubes work with existing fluorescent ballasts (plug-and-play, no rewiring). Type B bypass the ballast and wire directly to line voltage (more reliable, eliminates ballast failure). Type A+B work both ways — with or without ballast — offering maximum installation flexibility.
Do LED tube replacements need to match the original lumen output?
Not necessarily. LED tubes are significantly more efficient (140+ lm/W vs 80–90 lm/W for fluorescent), so a 15W LED tube delivering 2,100 lumens may provide adequate illumination where a 32W fluorescent delivered 2,800 lumens. For critical lighting applications, verify foot-candle levels with a light meter.
